MARC/AL Version 3.0

The MARC/AL Interface Utility™ Version 3.0 is a utility which allows Auto Librarian™ Ver. 3.0 users to read the USMARC/MicroLIF records included with the purchase of books from major book vendors such as Baker & Taylor, Brodart, Follett and others, thus eliminating the need to input manually newly purchased books. This utility also enables users who have a union disk or MARC records from Bibliofile or another source to upload their books into Auto Librarian™ Ver. 3.0 using the MARC record. This is an import feature only. The utility does not export Auto Librarian™ Ver. 3.0 book records into the MARC format.

When using the MARC/AL Interface Utility™ the MARC records are not altered in any way. They are read and then converted to Auto Librarian™ records. The MARC record remains intact for later use.

To receive the MARC records into Auto Librarian™ the user simply begins with STEP 1 at the MAIN MENU and fills in the Conversion Input Form (above). Step 2 allows the user to view the converted MARC records and Step 3 sends the converted MARC records to Auto Librarian™. The MARC/AL Interface Utility™ is that easy to use!

DRIVES: 20 MB or larger hard drive and one 5.25" or 3.5" floppy disk drive.
